Gratitude and Growth
I am grateful for students teaching because it has allowed me to work on so many things that I could never really work on in a college class.
When I came into student teaching, I was nervous and unsure of myself as an educator. I felt unprepared. I felt like I had no authority to be in a classroom.
Now, after student teaching all semester, I have realized that I am prepared. I am knowledgeable about my subject, and I have good instincts. The thing that I had to realize is that it is okay to feel unsure, but to always show up and do my best for my students no matter how unsure I may feel.
This is such a great reflection on your growth! I am so happy that you feel more repaired to two into the authority role as this will help your classroom management every time you each!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anita, such a great reflection. The authority piece is something that I will continue to strive to be better at in my future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteI also felt the same way about getting to work on things that we don't normally get to work on in our classes. You are definitely prepared to be a teacher and I can't wait to see where you go!
ReplyDeleteI agree with being nervous at the start but now knowing that I van do it. You are going to do great wherever you end up!
